Our Mission to the World

Doing God's Work with Our Hands

We are committed to serving God and our neighbors.  Please explore this page to discover the many ways we live out our mission.

Meals on Wheels

We deliver meals to homebound residents at the beaches as part of the Beaches Community Kitchen.

Quilts and Health Kits for Lutheran World Relief

THE HOLY COMFORTERS quilting group gathers on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  There is always a need for more people to cut, sew, and assemble these quilts which are shipped around the world through Lutheran World Relief.  For more information call the church office at  (904)249-4575 and ask for Sandy Asher.

Beaches Emergency Action Ministry (B.E.A.M.)

We collect non-perishable foods  and personal hygiene items on an ongoing basis. Items can be left in the red wagon in the Narthex.

BEAM is a community based organization serving low income residents in Jacksonville’s beaches communities and relying heavily on community support to assist our neighbors in time of need.  We envision a future in which no beaches resident goes hungry or is haunted by the fear of eviction.

Mission House

Every 3rd Wednesday our people cook and serve the evening meal at Mission House, a homeless service in Jacksonville Beach.  Volunteers work from 5 to 7 p.m. and serve about 300 people.

Mission House is the only day facility to help meet the needs of people who are homeless at the Beaches through compassion, faith, and programs designed to provide assistance at an individual level.

St. Andrews is blessed to partner with Northeast Florida Women Veterans by providing its four-bedroom, 3,000-square-foot "St. Andrews House" for temporary housing for homeless women veterans.  The picture at right shows the dedication ceremony from 2021.

Northeast Florida Women Veterans founder, president, and CEO Deloris "Dee" Quaranta says, "It's what we have been praying for.  While there are shelters in the area, beds are limited for women veterans with children.  Actually there are limited beds for women veterans period."
